Life With The Libbys | Favorite Books of 2024
As 2024 comes to a close, I’m reflecting on one of my favorite personal accomplishments this year: making time for reading. Setting the intention to read more—both for pleasure and for personal growth—has been transformative. Over the past few years, I’ve cultivated the habit of starting and ending my days with a book in hand. My mornings begin at 5 AM with an hour of quiet “me time,” complete with movement, meditation, coffee, and a self-help or educational book to set a positive tone for the day. Evenings are for winding down with fiction, and yes, I unapologetically love a steamy romance—thank you, Kindle Unlimited! This year, I read close to 50 books, a milestone I’m incredibly proud of. Swapping mindless scrolling for intentional reading has brought so much joy into my life, whether I’m snuggled with my daughter while she watches Disney or indulging in uninterrupted reading sessions during solo travel. I’m excited to share my top favorites from this year in a variety of categories, and I’d love to hear from you—what were your favorite reads in 2024? Do you have any reading goals for 2025? Let’s swap recommendations and inspiration!
Windy City Series - If you love a sports romance this is THE series. Equal parts steamy and romantic. I flew through this series and can't wait for the next one.
The Idea of You - I read this before watching the movie and so glad I did. While I loved both. This book was one of my favorites and I could not put it down.
Raising Girls Who Like Themselves - For my girl mommas this one was a good read. I learned so much and also had so much gratitude for the way my Mom raised me.
This Summer Will Be Different - I love everything Carly Fortune writes and this was the perfect summer read! Craving a vacation to PEI.
Profit First - One of my favorite money/business reads of 2024 this book was super digestible with tangible takeaways for small business owners.
Part of Your World - I became a huge fan of Abby Jimenez this year and loved this series. I just finished another one of her books at the beginning of 2025 and I love how they can all be read stand alone but she incorporates some of the other characters in small ways.
