Life With The Libbys | Celebrating Love | Valentine's Day Ideas for Everyone
We love any excuse to celebrate love! Although Valentine's Day has a reputation for being cheesy, we thought we would share some fun ways to celebrate the holiday with everyone in your life.
With your Someone Special
Take The Love Languages Quiz - if you don't already know your love language (or your partners) take the quiz and talk about how it influences your relationship. If you liked that, maybe you can read the book together or listen to it on audible?
Cook Dinner Together - pick your favorite recipe or try something new! We love a cozy night in. Follow us on Pinterest for some of our favorite recipes.
Wine Tasting - visit your favorite local winery / tasting room (we love CellarDoor) or pick up a few new ones and try at home.
Paired App - Looking to improve your relationship beyond just Valentine's Day? Check out The Paired App. It's an app for couples with fun daily quizzes, games, and relationship advice. We started using this a few months ago and really like how it allows us to connect / spark conversation during this season of parenthood / business ownership.
Couples Massage - book one at your favorite spa or DIY at home.
Plan Your Next Vacation - Ah! Love this idea. Dreaming up our next travel destination is one of my favorite things to do. What better way to do it over a date night?
Go for a Walk - A little fresh air hand in hand is so refreshing - even in these cold New England winters.
Have Coffee In Bed - If you have a busy day with work and parenting, start your day together with coffee in bed.
Learn Something New - Maybe take the evening to learn a new skill on MasterClass or Skillshare.
Write a Love Letter - If you know me, you know I love a good card. Take it one step further for the holiday and write your someone special a heartfelt love letter.
With Your Girlfriends
Self Care Night - Yes please! Bring your favorite mani set (we love this Olive & June set) or diy facials.
Festive Food - share a v-day inspired brunch or custom cocktail.
Floral Arranging - Throw on some Miley Cyrus "Flowers" and buy your own damn flowers and have fun arranging them together.
Book Club - Pick a book of the month to read together. I'm excited to dive into 8 Rules of Love by Jay Shetty and it seems perfect just in time for v-day.
Take Pictures - grab your Polaroid or iphone and have some fun with a mini photo shoot.
Wellness Focused - head to a local workout class (try Jibe or Salud) or maybe do one at home with Melissa Wood Health followed by a guided meditation.
Tarot Cards - if you're looking for a little witchy fun, this is always a favorite in our friend group.
With Your Littles
Festive Food - kids love fun food! we love this heart shaped waffle maker or maybe do a DIY cookie decorating.
Decorate for the Occasion - have fun fun and fill your home with v-day inspired decorations. I love the simple joy some balloons bring to kids.
Get Crafty - bring out the paint and coloring books and have some artsy fun.
Party with Friends - host a little v-day party with your littles and other families. Let the kids play together and include some activities, food, or decorations.
Affirmations - share the love! A client of mine (Mindy Servello - follow her here) shared how she was doing some post it affirmations with her son every day and I just loved this idea!
Read a Love Inspired Book - In My Heart is one of our favorites and we bought Grey the ABCs of Love for this year.
Go for a Walk - fresh air is always a good idea. Go for a stroller walk, mini hike, or just play outside in your yard to spend some quality time together.
Lunch Date - maybe going out for dinner with your kids on Valentine's Day isn't your idea of a good time, if you're able to maybe opt for lunch or breakfast date instead?
Dance Party - Throw on your favorite love filled tunes and dance around with your kiddos.
